TARABA JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH (TAJAR) REVIEWERS’ GUIDE
Scope of the Journal
The Taraba Journal of Agricultural Research (TAJAR) is a high-quality scientific journal that publishes critical review, short communication, Case Study, technical report and original research articles in all areas of agriculture and life science.
Manuscript Preparation and Format
The manuscript should be written in English and prepared in MS Word format and Times New Roman using 1.5 line spacing and a font size of 12, not exceeding 15 pages. The title of the manuscript should be font size 14, bold and in title case. The manuscript’s section titles should all be in boldface capitals with font size 12, and each section’s subtitles should also be in boldface start case.
Manuscript Organization
The manuscript should be organized in the following order:
- • Title: The title should be short, not exceeding 15 words and should provide precise information about the contents.
- • Abstract: A clear, informative abstract not exceeding 250 words should provide a brief description of the topic, outline the statement of problem(s), highlight experimental design, and novelty and conclusions that are self-explanatory.
- • Keywords: Four to six appropriate keywords should be provided.
- • Introduction: Must include essential background information of the research gap, hypothesis to be tested, objectives and significance clearly stated.
- • Materials and Methods: Should describe in sufficient details how the study was carried out. Experimental designs and the statistical procedures clearly indicated.
- • Results and Discussion: Result and discussion should be combined. The results obtained should be presented graphically or in tables which should be self-explanatory. The results should be interpreted in relation to previously published works using APA style.
- • Conclusion: Should be brief and reflect hypothesis and the most important outcome of the work, novel contributions to knowledge intelligibly identified.
- • Acknowledgements: Acknowledgements should be brief and informative on research grant and others who have contributed directly, where necessary.
- • References: The APA style of citation and referencing should be featured in the text. The name(s) of the author(s) followed by the dates in parentheses. All references cited must be listed in alphabetical order, the style of the references should confirm to the following examples:

- • Tables and Figures: All tables and figures must be place at appropriate place in the text and have a caption and/or legend. The captions must be written in sentence case (e.g., Demographic Characteristics of Respondents). The tables and figures must be numbered (e.g., Table 1, Figure 2), the use of vertical lines on the tables is not allowed.
- • Units of Measurements: The basic SI unit system of measurement and standard abbreviations are recommended.
Publication Charges
Manuscripts should be accompanied by handling/processing fees of N5,000.00. Upon acceptance, a publication fee of N25,000.00 is paid to the publisher. The handling fee of $5 and publication charge of $35 apply to author(s) outside Nigeria. All payments should be made into the account below:
